BRADL 7th FASTEST AT MUGELLO ON DAY ONE

Mugello, 30 May: the premier class rider took the Mugello circuit today for the first day of practices of the Gran Premio d’Italia but some light rain in the afternoon prevented the riders from improving their bikes and lap times. LCR Honda’ Stefan Bradl, who recorded the 7th quickest lap time in this morning FP1 (1’48.925), sat out the 45-min second session together with his colleagues but he is ready to go back in action tomorrow as a real estimator of the Tuscan circuit.

Stefan: Actually the 7th place is acceptable but we could use the second session to adjust the bike. Anyway the good thing is that this morning we have tried different solutions with the bike settings and I went longer with the swing-arm length and this was the biggest step we have tried today. We have done some laps with that but later we came back to our standard bike and we could really improve our lap time on used tyres and this is very important. It’s good for my confidence to go fast on used tyres at the end of the session. It’s not going to be easy especially with Ducati as they tested here and they are pretty strong on this track. Let’s see how the weather will be tomorrow and we go ahead with our plan to make a good qualifying”.
