BRITISH GP: BAD LUCK IN THE RACE

Stefan Bradl missed out a possible points scoring finish today at the demanding Silverstone Circuit, after he crashed out of the race in lap 13.

After a well-scaled ride in the early stages of the race, heavy rain and low temperatures has made conditions more difficult for race day in England, it took no longer time till the 25 year Aprilia rider has made his way through the pack to settle down in the top 15. But the track conditions which were really hard to assess spoiled his race completely.

#6 Stefan BRADL (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini, Aprilia) – NC, World Championship 20 (11 points):

“At the beginning of the race it was hard to bring the tyres on temperatures and I wasn’t able to race a consistent pace. Then finally after four or five laps I was able to start pushing harder. I got close to Alvaro (Bautista) and followed him for a few laps and then at a certain point going into turn 15 I suddenly lost the front while breaking and crashed out. I’m very disappointed because we could have brought home a really good result, but throughout the weekend we didn’t really have a lot of time to work on a proper setup for these conditions, so I’m pleased with the work done up to the crash. This time we were unlucky but we’re very anxious to make up it at Misano in two weeks’ time.”
