#AssenWorldSBK: “RACE OK, BUT THERE IS NO MORE POSSIBLE UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES”

After a strong sixth place on Saturday, the 27-year-old Superbike rider had to be satisifed with tenth in the second Assen race.

On Sunday, conditions were similar to the previous day: bright skies but still much to cold temperatures for this season. Stefan Bradl started from third in the front row due to the new regulations regarding the grid positions for the second race during a weekend. Based on the results after race one, Bradl moved forward to the order after he came home in sixth. However, he couldn’t take benefit from it and unlike Saturday afternoon, the Honda rider didn’t experience a thrilling race two in Assen.

The Superbike World Championship continues in two weeks in Italy’s Imola.

#6 Stefan BRADL (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team, Honda CBR1000RR SP2), 10th – Championship position 12 (35 points):

“Today’s race was not quite as exciting as yesterday’s. Firstly, I unfortunately could not take advantage from third position on the grid because I already lost some positions at the start. On the other hand, we went into today’s race with a different setting for the front. So, it took a few laps to get adapted to it. During this stage, I probably missed a better result because I just needed to long to adapt to the changed situation in terms of the bike’s handling. But the decision in favour of the changed setting was correct anyway because the performance of the front tyre didn’t last over the entire distance yesterday.”

“Overall, Assen was once again a curious weekend. The technical situation remains quite unclear. In this regard, we must look that we are already getting more order for Imola. Hopefully we will be better and more constant on this. Apart from the fact that my race was already gone after the initial stages, it was ok. But as shown by the result of my team mate Nicky, you can recognize that the bike doesn’t allow more at the moment. This is really a pity and also a little gruelling.”
