FRACTURED SCAPHOID AFTER ASSEN CRASH

It was an unlucky outcome for Stefan Bradl during the Dutch TT race as he crashed heavily after a few laps. The German, who qualified for P13 on the grid, was already in the lead of the Open class but he suddenly lost the rear and crashed without being able to do anything in order to avoid the accident. After the first medical investigations at the Clinica Mobile, Dr. Michele Zasa confirmed a fracture of the right scaphoid. Bradl immediately left the Assen for Munich where probably he will have surgery on his right hand in the next few days. A press release on his conditions will follow as soon as possible.

#6 Stefan BRADL (Athinà Forward Racing, Yamaha Forward) – NC, World Championshipo position 19 (9 points):

“Too bad, because expectation were high for this race. I did a good start and everything went according to the plans as I immediately took the lead in the Open class and I was close to the point’s zone. However, I lost the rear and I could not do anything to prevent the crash. Unfortunately I broke my right scaphoid in the impact and I probably will have to undergo surgery to reduce the fracture.”
